'Supergirl' is moving faster than a speeding bullet, when it comes to development. It seems like just a month ago we didn't know anything about this series or if it was even in the works. Now we know a lot more! Here are some facts you can depend on:
- Kara Zor-El is actually Kara Danvers. She arrived on the planet when she was just 12 years old. Unlike her cousin, she was adopted by the Danvers family.
- Kara has an older sister (not kyptonian). Her name is Alexandra “Alex” Danvers and she is 26. She's a science-y girl that is fascinated by Kara's powers but also holds a bit of jealousy
- Kara is 24 years old and is said to be played by a 22-26 year old actress (currently auditions are being held).
- Kara hasn't used her powers much as she was taught by her adopted family to be careful with them. An unforeseen disaster (presumably in the pilot) will force her to use her abilities. This is Kara's first taste at being a hero which kick starts the series.
- Arrow's Greg Berlanti is behind this project and its casting just like Flash. He also penned the first episode along side Ali Adler.
- Besides Kara and her sister Alexandra, four other series regulars are looking to be cast. Cat Grant, James Olsen, Hank Henshaw, and Winslow ‘Wynn’ Schott.
