More Reactions From Upfronts

Variety.com had the opportunity to grab facetime with all The CW cast members that were in attendance at the upfronts. Obviously, one question that was asked to all of them was how they felt about the Supergirl coming to the network. Here are their responses:

Melissa Benoist ("Supergirl"):

“I can’t say I’m surprised, I think it’s logical. I think it’s such a good fit — it feels like the right shoe size now. Shifting to a different network shouldn’t have a big impact on the tone of the series. I do know we’ll have the chance to maybe linger on stories that worked so well last season or stories from the comic-books and stories that stay true to the mythology, so hopefully we can marinate and spend more time on things like that.”

Mehcad Brooks (“Supergirl”):

“I was really happy. We had 10 million viewers per week so if that follows to the CW, that’s a great thing for us and the network. I’m going to miss pizza — everyone always has their shirt off on the CW. When I heard it got picked up on the CW, I was like, ‘I better get in shape right now.’ I can’t imagine it wouldn’t be sexier. I think the show fits the network a little better. I’m glad that CBS tried it — and it worked, but a hit on CBS is like 18 million viewers, and people that watch our show don’t watch it live.”

Stephen Amell (“Arrow”):

“I found out it was coming to CW at a Comic-Con convention when a fan was like, ‘How do you feel about this?’ last weekend in the U.K. And I said, ‘Oh, that would be cool.’ And he was like, ‘No, no, no — it’s happening.’ So I was like, ‘Oh! Awesome!’ It’s not unprecedented, but it’s peculiar. I think that we do get an opportunity to help each other all being in Vancouver, so hopefully they all have a good time out there and we won’t lose any awesome crew members to them.”

Victor Garber (“Legends of Tomorrow”):

“I’m thrilled. I love her and I love the show. I don’t know how I can make an appearance on that show, but maybe they’ll need a professorial viewpoint.”

Caity Lotz (“Legends of Tomorrow”):

“It’s wild! I’m super excited. That fact that we can now crossover onto ‘Supergirl’ and they’re going to be up in Vancouver with us, we’re just going to have a big cult out there — like a Berlanti cult.”
